Our new favorite neutral for kitchen design? Gray. There are dozens of reasons we love gray kitchens. Grey feels both of-the-moment and timeless all at once. It makes a perfect backdrop for literally any hardware. It’s a neutral, but feels bold. And because there are way more than 50 shades of gray, including the perfect one for your home.
But, you don’t need to take our word for it. We’ll let these gorgeous gray kitchens in all shades and styles do the talking.
A cool, medium shade of gray is perfect for spaces that skew slightly industrial, like the one below.
Here, dark gray goes modern, and brings balance to the warmer walnut wood tones.
For a more subtle effect, try a pale cloud gray. Here, it almost seems to flow into the white subway tile backsplash via the gray-veined marble countertops.
The combination of gray paint, chrome fixtures and stainless steel appliances add a modern element to the traditional style of the cabinetry and crown moulding in this kitchen.
Similarly, gray acts as a contemporary element in the farmhouse style kitchen, making the country-inspired design feel fresh and intentional.
Gray cabinetry and contrasting brass or gold hardware is of the most on-trend combinations in kitchen design right now. And given how stunning this space is, it’s not hard to see why.
Finally, this transitional space by blogger Dear Lillie combines a little bit of everything: traditional, industrial, farmhouse and contemporary, but it feels united thanks to the cohesive gray color palette.
What do you think about gray cabinets? Would you choose gray instead of white?
