Like so many of our clients, the residents of this Milton MA abode were dying to create lighter, more open elements to their kitchen and whole home. Divine Design + Build interior designer Amany Hanna, however, knew exactly how to help. While the kitchen appears in the front of the home, and is the crux to most living spaces, these metro west inhabitants assigned attic aspirations to our latest “Divine” project too. From dingy kitchens to unfinished attics, Amany transforms this fixer-upper into a full-fledged beauty.
Let’s work our way from top-to-bottom. According to the designer, the attic was an unfinished space. While an unfinished attic space could be allotted to a variety of uses, this client in particular, desired a new master suite (can you blame her?). Fortunately, a high attic ceiling and sprawling square footage allowed for not just a master bedroom, but an en suite with a walk-in closet and a full bathroom. Yay.
With a chimney running straight through the center of the attic, the designer chose to place storage, as well as the walk-in closet around that—while alternately the bedroom and bathroom sat on the outermost parameters. Form and function mate in this perfect attic love story.
Additionally, the dark, small kitchen had yellowing paint with clashing dark-wood cabinets. The two opposing features previously mentioned are not just a “fashion faux-pas” but ultimately cause an already small space to look even smaller.
In lieu of this divine debacle, Amany and her crew geared up with what else but silver and white to diminish the fear-invoking brown and yellows from yesterday’s past.
Divine Design + Build’s Amany evokes genius with the use of specific vendors plus subsequent materials, and curious design elements. The tiling throughout the house comes by way of SOHO Studios, while Thermador’s gas-range pairs beautifully with the pictured Cambria Counter-tops. The cabinetry comes by way of Holiday Kitchens, and Top Knob Pulls and Knobs finish off the white sheen of the drawers and cabinets throughout the home.
"I wanted to send a note thanking you for all the work you did on both my new kitchen and bath. Both rooms came out so much better than Rob and I could have ever imagined."
