A powder room renovation is a relatively small project that can yield big results when it comes to the value and style of your home; this was the motivation for a Medfield family when they decided to revamp the powder room in the main living area of their home.
The homeowners wanted to transform the plain, outdated space into a showcase of contemporary design and sleek finishes.
Because powder rooms are typically small spaces, every design decision counts. In order for the room to pop, a focal point or statement piece is a must. In this case, it was the tile that covered the walls and floor in the room.
For the wall, we chose a glass mosaic in a contemporary gray. For the floor, a beautiful, high-contrast stone tile adds pattern and interest to the small space.
Again, to make a statement, the gray color palette was offset with a warm, espresso-colored vanity that adds just the right amount of tension to the room to make things interesting.
Finally, we chose brushed nickel finishes in sleek, linear silhouettes to complement the modern scheme of the room.
