When you know you’re staying in a home for a long time you can make bold choices. But rather than make any costly mistakes in their renovations, these Boston high rise ocean-front condo owners turned to Divine to oversee their renovation from start to finish.
They challenged designer Mariette Barsoum to create a “mysterious, dark bathroom” that was “luxurious, industrial and sensual.” Not every designer would have been up for the task, especially knowing that the bathroom was relatively small, but Barsoum created a design that had every bit of the “wow” factor her clients desired.
Every square inch was thoughtfully planned and tailored to the homeowners. For him, a taller-than-average custom vanity to accommodate his height. For her, a modern, deep soaking tub. Throughout, blue accents suggest the ocean view from the adjoining master bedroom. To set the mood: black wall tiles sparkle with embedded crystals and the linear shower drain lights up when the water is running, and is the only light the couple needs when they enjoy their rain shower. The plumbing was also upgraded to increase the water pressure within this shower for two.
Barsoum’s design worked with, rather than against, the small space. It had been hard to imagine that this space could hold two sinks, a makeup vanity, and a shallow closet perfect for linen storage. But while the function of the bathroom is impressive, it’s the mood, the design, and the unexpected materials that make this room a show-stopper!
Do you have a room that’s ready to be re-imagined? It’s easy to get started!
"Mariette, you and your team have been a pleasure to work with. I am thrilled with my kitchen and my bathroom vanities and would highly recommend your firm. If you ever want to have people stop by my house to show them any of the cabinetry, I would be proud to show off my kitchen and bathrooms. Thank you again and best wishes for much continued success!"
