One of the first steps in renovating any space is deciding on a reasonable, realistic budget for the project: A bottom line that is both financially comfortable, but that will also allow for the results you want. Everything from necessary structural or electrical work, to details like fixtures, knobs, and drawer pulls must be considered and factored in.
Once your budget is set, guidelines are created for choosing materials and products that will be used in your room — and luckily, there are beautiful options to be had for all price ranges.
Below, we’ve selected three bathroom renovations, each with a vastly different budget, to show you what your money can get you.
1. Mid-range. Cost: $40,000- $60,000. The owner of this master bathroom got big bang for their buck, as this bathroom was renovated from top-to-bottom. Everything from the original vanity, to the old shower tiles, to the flooring and light fixtures were replaced. To keep the large project within their budget, cost-conscious materials, like stock cabinetry and large-tile flooring were used.
2. High end. Cost: $80,000-$110,000. This next bathroom, also a gut renovation, had a larger budget, both to accommodate the larger size of the room, and the homeowner’s wishes for custom and luxury elements in their master bath. Among the elements that raised the price here: The extra-large double shower, the towel-warming rack, and the custom-granite accents. The hoomeowner chose the slab was selected and it was then cut specifically to highlight certain elements of the stone.
3. Ultra-luxury. Cost: $110,000-$200,000. For the largest of budgets, almost anything is possible. In this case, that meant no detail was spared. From custom cabinetry and countertops, to a two-person shower, a separate soaking room, and light-up LED shower drain, this bathroom is the ultimate in luxury at every turn.
